We are living in an era where mobility is reduced due to the increase in various technologies. We no longer walk miles because we have cars and we no longer hand-wash our clothes because we have washing machines. While all of this has certainly made things convenient for us, but all of this comes at the cost of our health.

The importance of physical exercises cannot be stressed enough because they are scientifically proven to reduce the risk of several mild and chronic illnesses.

There are several exercises that are fun and healthy for your mind and body at the same time.

A healthy body must have high muscle mass and strong muscles to be able to function properly and reduce lethargy. Lifting weights is an ideal method of strength training.   • Swimming

For many swimming is just a pastime but it is actually great for your health and fitness. It actually helps those who suffer joint pains or strains. Swimming is highly recommended for arthritis patients and it has been proven to work wonders. Above all, it is one of the best ways to beat the heat so you will absolutely love it if you reside in warmer regions of your country.

  • Walking

Walking is ideal for individuals suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure, and cholesterol. You don’t really have to sign up for special memberships or find a specific spot for your daily walks. It can be done wherever you like. All you need to have is a pair of comfortable joggers and a watch to keep track of time. In addition to this, walking is an excellent way to maintain healthy digestion and relieve stress. No doubt, it’s a perfect alternate if you cannot manage any other form of exercise.

  • Skipping a Rope

Many of us consider skipping a rope as something for little children but little do we know its health benefits. It is a full body exercise and a great cardio that helps to keep your sugar levels, blood pressure, and other vitals under control. Get a skipping rope with a meter for counts so you can measure your progress over time. However, don’t go for it if you suffer from breathing or heart-related ailments as this can further cause discomfort.

  • Sit-Ups

Sit-ups sound old-school but there is no going back once you incorporate them in your daily fitness regime. This form of exercise targets your abdominal muscles and you end up losing a good amount of belly fat if done right. Experts recommend to go for crunches, a form of sit-ups that helps with lower back problems.

Having said that, you might need to consult a professional if your health issues do not get any better even after months of exercise.
